This is unbelievable to me, haha.

In 2019, I've always had dreams of making my own games based on my own characters. (some people can probably tell, but NomNomNami's games were a big influence on my art and everything...) I tried to make a game in 2022 for NaNoRenO, but ultimately failed! And here we are in 2023, the new era opens up...

Spinning Love is a cute project I wanted to make! The idea came from wanting to write and/or draw something I was obsessed with lately, and I've been on a real music collection craze lately! (The Minidisc noises in Sapphire's Theme is actually my Minidisc! MD's for the win!!) Spinning Love is a cute, and short gay visual novel of Wave the boombox, and Stylus the record player. (and part jukebox ???) I knew coming into NaNoRenO that I wanted to make a happy project, and I think it turned out nice!

Are there things that could be better? Of course! I want to mess around with textbox assets some more in the future... And of course, backgrounds! I wanted to fully color in my backgrounds, but to fit the time crunch, I decided to make them just two colors. For my first NaNoRenO project that I was actually putting in a lot of care into, I really didn't wanna risk not uploading it in time. Granted, I would've had a lot more time if I didn't spend half the month also watching the entirety of BoJack Horseman for the first time, but hey, we're here and we made it!

The music, albeit simple, is one of the things I'm proud of the most. Could it be better? Yeah of course, I think the tunes could have a little more variety in them, they're pretty repetitive. As someone who hasn't made a lot of music in the past though, I'm very happy with how they turned out! It feels like such a fun way to make art... Hopefully I continue to make decent music, haha.

What's next, though? Well, I plan to release another cute romance game! Although, I'm going to experiment with having choices in the game, that alter the ending you get. It'll also be short, but I think it'll be longer then this game with what I plan to add to it. If you enjoyed Spinning Love, I hope you stick around to see what comes next!! I can't promise that it'll be out anytime soon, but I have a vision of everything that I want to make! So hopefully, the wait won't be unbearable. (I was actually working on this, but paused for NaNoRenO. Some art assets [albeit very little] are actually done! There's quiiiiiiite a bit left to draw... but it'll be cute, I promise.) Spinning Love was a really nice opportunity, I learned quite a bit from it! I hope to use my knowledge to make an even nicer game.
